She serves as a professor of plant pathology and mycology in the Department of Forest Resources and Wildlife Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin. Prof. Ikhatua previously served as the lecturer-in-charge of the department between 2002 and 2003 and as acting head from 2003 to 2004 and 2006-2008.
