She is also the founder of the Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF), a non-profit organization that addresses the prevalence of gender-based violence, rape and the trafficking of young girls and women across Nigeria. Through this work, she has become a recognized thought leader in the field of women\u2019s health internationally, and her 2020 TED talk on the \u2018shadow pandemic\u2019 has gained a global audience.<\/p>\n<p>Her educational qualifications include an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialisation from Howard University , Washington DC , a Master\u2019s degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and as accurately stated \u00a0an on-going PhD \u00a0in Gender Violence at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>DaSilva-Ibru has been recognized with several awards, including Leading Ladies Africa \u2018100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria\u2019 in 2018; recognition by the British Council in Nigeria and Her Network&#8217;s 2019 \u2018Woman of the Year in Advocacy.\u2019 In 2020, she was recognised as one of the CNN COVID Heroes and Newsmakers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills Utilisation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. DaSilva-Ibru is a specialist in human fertility, maternal care, paediatrics and IVF treatment.
