She is also Ogun State&#8217;s first-ever female chief press secretary.<\/p>\n<p>At the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Channel 7, Lagos, Wakama began her journalism career in the 1980s. She eventually worked her way up to Manager News at NTA&#8217;s Abuja headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>She served as the media manager for the International Republican Institute (IRI), a USAID initiative in Nigeria.
