As of now, she holds the position of Deputy Chairperson for the Nigerian chapter of the African Women’s Leadership Network and serves as a member of the Enugu State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality and Extra-Judicial Killings.

Possessing a Ph.D. in Law, she is the founder of the Women Aid Collective (WACOL), the Tamar Sexual Assault Referral Centre, and the West African Women’s Rights Coalition (WAWORC). Recognised for her activism and contributions to human development, she was honored with the 2019 National Human Rights Award in Nigeria and bestowed with the national honor of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON).

She is widely regarded as an authoritative figure in international human rights, particularly concerning the rights of women and children in Africa. Previously, she served as the Dean of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and presently holds the position of Head of Department in the Department of Public Law within the same institution.
