Hon. Stella Erhuvwuoghene Okotete wields a Bachelor’s in International Studies and Diplomacy from Benson Idahosa University; Diploma in Law from the Rivers State College of Arts and Sciences; Masters degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution, and an ongoing Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Abuja. She possesses various certificates in professional and leadership programs from JFKSG Harvard University, University of Virginia; INSEAD France; University of Oxford, Said Business School, UK; Pan Atlantic University; and Columbia Business School, New York.
She is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN); a Professional Fellow Doctorate (PFD) of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN); Institute of Management Consultants (IMC); Institute of Corporate Administration (ICA); and a Member of the Institute of Directors (loD) of Nigeria.
She was elected Councillor, Ughelli-North L.G.A in 2008; appointed Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2011. In 2017, she was appointed Executive Director, Business Development of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) and reappointed for another 5 years tenure in 2022. She is a member of the Board of Directors African Biofuel and Renewable Energy Company (ABREC). In 2020, she was appointed National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (CECPC), and served as the Secretary, Election Planning and Monitoring of the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). She also served in the 2023 Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Transition/ Inauguration Committee.
