Prof. Fapohunda holds a PhD from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, which she obtained in 2005.

Career & Expertise

She is a Professor of Aquaculture in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. 

She was Acting Head of Department at the institution from 2011-2012 and has been the Head of Department since 2016 till date. Her current research programme is on Artificial Breeding of Heterotis niloticus, a species of fish found in freshwater rivers, streams, floodplains, lakes and swamps.

 She is a Fellow of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot, Israel.

She can be contacted for insight on how to employ environmentally responsible source of food and commercial products to create healthier habitats, and to rebuild stocks of threatened or endangered species.
