She is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt. She obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Wales College of Cardill, the UK in 1988. She was Head of the Department of Educational Management and Planning from 2001 to 2003, and Deputy Dean of Education between 2006 and 2010.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA). Her research works were centred on the utilisation of resources for quality delivery.
In one of her works titled “Refocusing teachers’ education in Nigeria: Challenges and innovations, Ebong expressed concern about the fallen standards of education in Nigeria and the need to focus on teacher education. According to her, teacher education globally is a key target for reform and a subject of discussion among policymakers and stakeholders, in relation to the effectiveness of teacher preparation programmes.
Skills Utilisation
Ebong will be a good source on teachers’ education to highlight basic gaps, which pose major challenges in teachers’ training processes, as well as training in pedagogical challenges.
