Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the University of Maiduguri in 1986.

Career & Expertise

She was a Senior Registrar at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital and was the Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency since February 2016.

On November 2, 2018, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State announced her as his running mate for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Kaduna State which he won, making her the second female deputy governor of Kaduna State

Dr. Hadiza’s was appointed in 2020 to Chair the State Standing Committee on COVID-19 and later as acting governor for the four weeks when the governor had to go into isolation after contracting covid. Dr. Sabuwa now chairs the Infrastructure Development Council.

Skills Utilisation

She can coach on the ability to resolve conflict. She has the ability for effective projects and risk management, a skill she developed while chairing the Procurement Monitoring Council and Human Capital Development Council.
