Grace Bent attended the University of Calabar, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Literary Studies in 1998, and an MSc in Political Science and International Relations in 2003. She also has a doctorate of Public Administration from Indiana State University, United States.

Career & Expertise

Her foray into politics saw her first as the Political adviser to the former PDP National Chairman, Audu Ogbeh. In 2007, she was elected to represent Adamawa South District in the Senate on the platform of the PDP and became chair of the Senate Committee on Environment.

While in the Senate, she opposed the establishment of a Desert Control Commission on the basis that this would subsume or duplicate the functions of the national committee on ecological problems and in September 2009, wrote a formal letter to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Mohammed Adamu Aliero, protesting the excessive felling of trees for road construction.
