Kadaria Ahmed has a Bachelor’s degree from Bayero University, Kano and a Master of Arts degree in Television from Goldsmiths University of London. She is a Chevening Scholar.
Career & Expertise
Ahmed began her career at the BBC as a senior producer, where she played a crucial role in determining the content and direction of influential programmes like Focus on Africa and Network Africa. Her experience allowed her to report from diverse locations, including South Africa and the United Nations. After returning to Nigeria, she became the editor of Next, an acclaimed publication, where she oversaw a large newsroom and set the editorial agenda.
In addition to her editorial roles, she has made significant contributions to public discourse by moderating presidential debates and creating interview programmes such as Straight Talk and The Core, which focus on pressing national issues. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to public service journalism, founding Daria Media Ltd and RadioNow 95.3FM to further her mission of promoting responsible media practices.
