Francis is a prominent crime and security reporter in Nigeria, celebrated for breaking stereotypes and advancing journalism. With over two decades of experience, she began her career in 2002 as a trainee reporter at The Sun Newspaper. She is the CEO of Youthslens Initiative Development, an NGO, and the publisher of Youth Lens and Security News Alert.
Francis serves as Deputy Editor of The Eagle Online and Media Head for the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN). She is a media consultant, mentor, gender advocate, and the author of We Are Priceless.
In 2014, she became the first female overall winner of the prestigious Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting. She has also earned accolades from the Nigerian Media Merit Awards (NMMA) and won first place for child-friendly reporting at the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME).
