Expert Bio

Abiola is the founder of the Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), a non-governmental organization dedicated to advocating for maternal and reproductive health, women’s rights, human rights, governance, and the rule of law.

In addition to her role at WARDC, she holds executive board positions in key organizations such as the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding and the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund. Furthermore, Abiola shares her expertise by teaching International Humanitarian Law at the University of Lagos.

Her journey in human rights activism began at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she studied Law and served as the first female public relations officer. She furthered her education by earning a Master’s degree from the Notre Dame Law School in Indiana, USA, and a Doctoral degree from SOAS, University of London, specializing in women’s peace and security.
