Ekpo attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Wales, Cardiff; and University of the West of England, Bristol.

Comfort Ekpo is a professor of educational technology and the former vice chancellor of the University of Uyo, where she served from December 2010 to December 2012. She was the university’s first female vice chancellor.

Prof. Ekpo has authored many articles in both domestic and foreign journals. Her areas of interest in research are learning resource management and the creation of instructional media.

Prof. Ekpo is a genuine scholar who has given many lectures at institutions in Nigeria’s Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Ahmadu Bello.

She has contributed to the country in several ways, including as a member of the Commonwealth Scholarship Board, a resource for the National Universities Commission, the Federal and State Ministries of Education, the Women and Social Development Agency, etc.

She was previously a member of the governing councils of Ritman University in Akwa Ibom State, Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, and the International Advisory Board of Universal Learning Solutions. She is also the founder of Women In Total Girl Development (WIT-GIRL), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the mentoring of girls. She is the first female member of the Association of African Universities.
