Salihu holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Abuja.

Career & Expertise

Salihu is a political scientist with a strong background in gender, equity, and social inclusion. She has over two decades of experience as a consultant, lecturer, and programme manager, focusing on gender policy development and social change. Salihu began her career teaching at Ahmadu Bello University and later served as Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. She also coordinated the DFID/UKAid Coalitions for Change (C4C) programmes.

She has worked with governments, civil society, and international organisations, leading efforts to develop national and state-level gender equity policies and fostering dialogue between stakeholders. In addition to her consulting work, Salihu serves on several advisory boards and councils, including the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund and the Governing Council of Ekiti State University.
