Omowole earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Benin between 1985 and 1990. She holds a Master’s degree in Media Culture and Technology from the University of Bedfordshire.
Career & Expertise
With over thirty years of experience in journalism, Ifeyinwa Omowole has a strong focus on health, gender, children, and development issues. Since December 2020, she has been the Deputy Editor-in-Chief at the News Agency of Nigeria, where she plays a vital role in reporting and editing significant stories that impact society. Beyond her editorial duties, Ifeyinwa is deeply involved in advocacy, monitoring, and training initiatives aimed at empowering rural and disadvantaged women.
In addition to her role at the News Agency, Ifeyinwa has served as the National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) since May 2014. In this capacity, she has organised workshops and training sessions for members, coordinated various projects, and led fundraising efforts to support the empowerment of women in underserved communities.
