Azikwe is a retired Professor of Education from the Faculty of Education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is renowned as an academic, educator, and author. Notably, she is the widow of the former President of Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe. In 1999, she was appointed to the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
She earned her PhD from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1992 and served as Head of the Department of Foundations from 2005 to 2008. Before this role, she worked as a teacher before transitioning to the Department of Educational Foundation.
Currently, Azikiwe’s focus lies on the empowerment of widows and the girl-child through her NGO, Widows Lifeline, following her retirement. Her expertise in this area makes her a valuable resource for matters concerning girl-child and education-related issues.
