In 1937, she began her primary education, later transferring to Ago-Oko Primary School in 1940. After securing admission to Methodist Girls’ High School in Lagos, she excelled, winning prizes in English and mathematics. After completing her secondary education in 1949, she obtained a Grade One Certificate. Following a year at Queen’s College Lagos, she enrolled at Newcastle University, studying Latin and mathematics for her bachelor’s degree. Graduating in 1954, she furthered her studies with a diploma in education, earning a second division in 1955.

Initially employed as a teacher of Latin and Mathematics at Pipers Corner School in Greta Kingshill, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, she taught there for two years. Subsequently, she taught at St. Monica’s High School in Essex for one year, totaling three years in the teaching profession before transitioning to law.

In 1960, she pursued a law degree at Gray’s Inn, London, completing her studies in 1962. Upon returning to Nigeria, she embarked on a legal career and became the first female to be conferred with the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) title.

Best way to utilise her skills: She is retired now, and she devotes her time to mentoring young lawyers. Her wealth of knowledge can be tapped in and leveraged on.
