Besides being a management consultant, Ifueko Omoigui Okauru is also a professional accountant and chartered tax practitioner. Her accounting degrees are from the University of Lagos (BSc), Imperial College (MSc in Management Science), and Harvard Kennedy School (Cambridge) (MA in Public Administration). She holds fellow status both with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and ICAN.
She changed the tax landscape to previously unheard-of levels, generating significant revenues and fostering the growth of revenue institutions at the federal and state levels, which are essential institutions of governance. She served as the first female executive chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria and the first female chairman of the Joint Tax Board of Nigeria from May 2004 to April 2012.
She was a founder member of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and a part-time member of the United Nations (UN) Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters during that time.
Ifueko is a member of the following boards in Nigeria: founder and director of ReStraL Limited (Leadership and Management Consultants), chief program officer of the DAGOMO Foundation Nigeria Ltd/GTE, chairman of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), commissioner of the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation, chairman of the Nigeria Tax Research Network, non-executive director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, independent director of SEPLAT Petroleum Dev. Company Limited.
She is also a non-executive director of the MTN Foundation, Chairman of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF); Commissioner of the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation, Chairman of the Nigeria Tax Research Network, and a member of the Executive Committee of Women in Management, Business, and Public Service.
