Career & Expertise

Busari is a Peabody award-winning and two-time Emmy-nominated journalist and editor at CNN International based in West Africa. 

She is a skilled and experienced newsroom leader who reports on-air for CNN International. She began her career as a news reporter in the early 2000s. 

After a short stint at BBC News, Busari joined CNN International in 2008. Her excellence in journalism was rewarded by the organization, resulting in a swift career progression to Multiplatform Bureau Lead and Supervising Editor for Africa. 

She has also received an “Outstanding Woman in the Media” award. The United Nations celebrates her as one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent (2017) and she is recognised as one of the 25 most powerful female journalists in Africa (2020 and 2021). 

A passionate and adept public speaker, she is regularly invited to moderate panels and share her profound insights. She is the founder of TEDxBrixton and has been a speaker at several organisations, including TEDGlobal.

Skills Utilisation

She can be contacted on training female journalists on the best way to carry out good investigative stories and reports. She also trains journalists in the art of public speaking.
