Professor Alabi obtained a PhD from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1994. She is a Professor of Plant Pathology in the Faculty of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is currently the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture of the same university.

She is a Fellow of the African Scientific Institute and the Nigerian Society for Plant Protection.
