Eishet has 30 years’ experience in teaching and developing strong network with academics and literacy experts in several countries. She introduced ‘Synthetic Phonics,’ which has a proven record of success in getting readers to read and write within a very short period.
She explained that the phonics method is an approach that focuses on teaching of sound-letter correspondences. According to her, the method works by rapidly teaching pupils, starting with the smallest units of speech, teaching them sounds and building up bigger units by blending the sounds.
Eishet is the author of a handbook titled: “Teaching Reading and Writing to Beginners,” a synthetic phonics for second language teachers. It collaborates with international partner, Jolly Learning UK, providing over N150, 000 worth books annually to facilitate literacy in pupils in primary one and two grades.
