In May 2017, Dr. Rosemary Audu was named Laboratory Director and Head of the Department of Microbiology at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR).
She has a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology with a focus in virology, and she does research on viral hepatitis, the human papilloma virus, and HIV.

She established the Center for Human Virology and Genomics’ quality management system and has worked on numerous HIV/AIDS research projects.
Audu is currently mentoring other laboratories in Nigeria for accreditation as a trained assessor for the African Society for Laboratory Medicine and ISO 15189.

She is a participant in Nigeria’s National Technical Working Group on Viral Hepatitis.

Skills Utilisation

Her diverse career includes work on hepatitis, HPV, and HIV/AIDS research. She is a virology specialist and is available to talk about epidemic diseases.
