Wakama, who has extensive expertise spanning 23 years in broadcasting, serves as the chief press secretary to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the former governor of Ogun State. She is also Ogun State’s first-ever female chief press secretary.
At the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Channel 7, Lagos, Wakama began her journalism career in the 1980s. She eventually worked her way up to Manager News at NTA’s Abuja headquarters.
She served as the media manager for the International Republican Institute (IRI), a USAID initiative in Nigeria. She has received numerous honors throughout the years, including the General Manager’s Commendation, Best Worker Award, and Divisional Best Worker Award.
