AWARD

The award programme is the graduation ceremony for female reporters who are declared fellows of the Female Reporters Leadership Programme Fellowship. It rewards outstanding fellows and appreciate all stakeholders to signal the close of activities for the FRLP in each year. The event recognises the work of the best three reporters and present prizes to these. It is also an opportunity to invite the various media houses whose reporters are participating as well as other organisations to share the project experience as the fellows recount the milestones, they have been able to make because of their exposure to the programme.

Since the commencement of the fellowship in 2017, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism has graduated a total of 33 fellows from various media houses in Nigeria and Ghana. The long term goal is to strengthen and expand the network of female journalists oriented for leadership from 33 to 53 fellows after the completion of the project in December 2019.
